This event will take place in the British Library Knowledge Centre Pigott Theatre and simultaneously live streamed on the British Library platform. Tickets may be booked either to attend in person or to watch online either live or within 48 hours on catch up. Viewing links for the online version will be sent out shortly before the event. 

Apart from being an internationally loved comedian, Eddie Kadi is also passionate about music from Africa. He is regular host of the world’s biggest afrobeats festival, Afro Nation and also fronts BBC 1Xtra Official Afrobeats Chart Show.

Join Eddie and friends as they take a personal journey through some of the greatest music from Africa, past and present.

Doors and Bar open at 18:00 and the show will start at 19:00. Please arrive no later than 15 minutes before the start time of this event.

Eddie Kadi is a globally celebrated comedian and the first British Black comedian to headline the O2 Arena in London. Of British-Congolese background he reaches across cultures and continents, performing brand of brilliant, bold and high energy entertainment to huge crowds worldwide. A regular host of the world’s biggest afrobeats festival, Afronation since it launched in 2019 he also fronts BBC 1Xtra Official Afrobeats Chart Show. Eddie starred in Strictly Come Dancing 2023 and is Team Captain on ITV’s multi award winning entertainment format Sorry I Didn’t Know. In 2023 he was nominated for both the prestigious Royal Television Society Best Breakthrough Award and Best Breakthrough Presenter at the Edinburgh TV Awards In 2024 Eddie produced and hosted BBC1Xtra’s first comedy gala at London’s Hackney Empire (aired on BBC1).
